Bryan Guy Adams is of Maltese ancestry, born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada on November 5, 1959. Adams parents are both English and with his father working as a diplomat, he grew up travelling around the world. He attended the school of CAISL in Cascais, Portugal for four years and settled in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Adams in the age of 14 to 15 had a dishwasher job to buy a French guitar. He made temporary singer and through auditions, he acquired jobs to play in nightclubs with different bands like Shock and Sweeney Todd, which then released “If Wishes Were Horses” with Adams as a 15-year old lead singer. In 1976, Adams performed his first tour in Canada with his then-band “Shock.” In 1978, 18-year-old Adams teamed up with Jim Vallance and sent demos to A&M Records in Toronto, and signed for them for one dollar. Demos like “I’m ready” and “Remember” notably surfaced over the years. Also in 1978 the “Let Me Take You Dancing” was recorded, which was Adams first single and made it to the Canadian RMP chart in 1979.

With co-writer and co-producer Jim Vallance, Adams released his self-titled debut album in February 1980. Most of the album was recorded from October 29 to November 29, 1979. It was certified gold in 1986 in Canada. Moreover, in 1981, Adams released his second album “You Want It You Got It” with co-producer Bob Clearmountain.

Reckless is the best-selling albums certified five times platinum in the U.S.

In December 1984, with touring band Keith Scott, Dave Taylor, Pat Steward and Johnny Blitz, Adams played concerts in Chicago, Detroit, Ney York and Philadelphia. The next year, he toured the U.S., then Japan, Australia, Europe and Canada, and then headed to American West Coast. After that, he joined the artist Northern Lights for the African famine relief report, and then later went back to Europe for a tour with Tina Turner.

Later in 1989 he was the back-up singer for Belinda Carlisle’s “Whatever it takes.” In September 1991, Adams along with co-producer Mutt Lange released the album “Waking up the Neighbors” with the single that topped the charts “(Everything I Do) I Do It for you.” The song was featured in the movie Robin Hood: Prince of thieves and in 1991 won Adams a Grammy Award.

On October 4, 1991, “Waking up the World” tour started in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
